Married Catherine Ann Murphy  15 Sept 1903, in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.  

Carl Dominic Prothman was listed as the head of a family on the 1910 Census in Atkins, Pope County, Arkansas

In 1913, Carl and Catherine moved with their family to Canada. In April of that year they took the train from Little Rock and entered Canada at Portal, North Dakota. They settled in Salvador, Saskatchewan on a homestead and became citizens of Canada. 

They farmed on this homestead until 1941 when they moved to Vancouver, B.C.
